CFS IN ACTION | CASE STUDY

Managing Today’s Facilities with Tomorrow in Mind 

At a Southern hospital, kitchen service equipment faced frequent shutdowns, causing significant downtime and repeated troubleshooting. After the CFS pilot program began, tracking revealed 19 vendor visits in a few months, yet the root cause remained elusive despite repairs. Water filtration experts found no pressure issues, and even after preventive maintenance, the machines struggled to start. CFS worked closely with vendors and the store manager, eventually discovering that resin from the water softener was clogging the inlets. Once repaired, the issue was resolved, with no further work orders for over eight months.

Management groups had the opportunity to team up with Gateway Center to serve those in our community who are most vulnerable and in need of support. Almost 20 team members came together to lend a hand and spread some much-needed care and compassion. We kicked things off with a warm welcome from Drew Benton, the Director of Community Engagement. He split the team into two groups, with one helping out in Caroline's Kitchen, preparing sandwiches and lunch bags for over 200 of the Center's resident men. The other group worked on organizing and cleaning the Clothing Closet with guidance from two summer interns at the Center.

Property and facility management groups teamed up with vendor partners around the Metro area to support The Boyce L. Ansley School with on-site team volunteers, bringing 20 team members to work in their donation closet and deliver King of Pops and Tiff’s Treats to students and staff. Working with long-time vendor partners, we coordinated professional upgrades for their front and back entrances including branded welcome mats, pressure washing and painting, landscaping, building signage, and more. We are so grateful for the vendors who brought our vision for the school to life and join us to lift up our community every day.

For years our teams have supported Samaritan’s Purse for their global Operation Christmas Child mission. We are sincerely grateful to the colleagues who show up to prepare shoebox gifts for children in need around the world, with in-person volunteer days where teams organize gifts at the Atlanta Processing Center. Our teams are also supplied with empty shoeboxes to fill with holiday gifts. The filled shoeboxes are then be collected and delivered to Samaritan’s Purse.
